Webhooks integration FAQs
What is a webhook, in plain terms?
A URL that another system can send data to. When something happens in that system it posts a message to the URL, and a workflow starts immediately. No polling, no waiting.
When would we use this instead of a proper connector?
When there is no connector. Bespoke systems, older machine software and supplier portals rarely have one, and a webhook is usually the fastest way to get them talking to production.
Do we need a developer?
Someone at the sending end needs to be able to configure where it posts. We handle everything on the DynamxMFG side and test it with you before it goes live.
Can DynamxMFG send data out this way too?
Yes. As well as receiving, workflows can call out to another system and handle the response, so it works in both directions.
Is it reliable enough for production?
Webhooks are how most modern systems talk to each other. They are configured and tested against your real data during onboarding, the same as any other connection.
