What is poor visibility
costing you every month?
Most SME manufacturers lose money in ways that never appear on a single invoice. Put in your headcount, shifts and hourly rate, and see what manual admin and poor visibility are actually costing you.
Free, no sign-up needed. Built entirely on figures you enter.
How it works
Four inputs, and the numbers stay yours
Nothing is pre-loaded with our assumptions. Every figure below is one you set, so the total is one you can defend internally.
Pick a profile
Start from a small workshop, growing SME or large operation, then adjust anything.
Set your figures
Headcount, labour rate, time saved per shift and operating days. All yours to change.
Add operational costs
Scrap, downtime and excess stock are optional, and use your own numbers.
See the payback
Net saving, ROI and payback period, over year one and across three years.
Why it adds up
The savings you cannot see on an invoice
Lost time hides in chasing job status, re-keying data and reacting late to problems. DynamxMFG gives it back.
Less chasing
Live job status means nobody walks the floor or rings round to find out where work has got to. That time comes straight back.
No re-keying
Data is captured once on the shop floor and flows to finance and planning on its own, so the same numbers are not typed in three times.
Fewer surprises
Bottlenecks and downtime show up as they happen, so a problem becomes a decision rather than a scramble at the end of the week.
Questions
How the numbers are built
How is the time saving calculated?
People on the system, multiplied by minutes saved per person per day, multiplied by your fully-loaded hourly labour cost, multiplied by your operating days per year. Nothing else feeds into it, so you can check the arithmetic yourself.
Where does the default 30 minutes per person come from?
It is a conservative figure drawn from what our customers report after moving off paper and spreadsheets, through real-time visibility, digital work instructions and automated data capture. It is a starting point, not a promise. Set whatever number you would be comfortable defending to your finance director.
What if we do not know our scrap or downtime costs?
Leave them at zero. The scrap, downtime and inventory sections are optional and each uses a figure you enter with a reduction percentage you control. The core time saving stands on its own.
Is the investment figure a quote?
No. It is indicative, so the payback and ROI give you a realistic shape rather than an exact contract value. Your actual figure depends on headcount, modules and how you deploy, and is confirmed in a demo.
How is the inventory saving worked out?
Your stock reduction multiplied by a 20% annual carrying cost, which covers storage, tied-up capital and obsolescence. That is a standard industry assumption rather than a DynamxMFG number.
Why does year two look better than year one?
Year one carries the one-off setup cost. From year two onwards that drops away, so the net return climbs while the savings continue.
Can I get these numbers as a report?
Yes. There is an option inside the calculator to have the results emailed to you, with your inputs and the resulting figures set out in full.
Important: this calculator gives an illustrative estimate based on the figures you enter. It is not a formal quotation, and actual savings vary with your operation, your data and how the system is adopted.
