What marine manufacturers ask us
Can it handle builds that run for months?
Yes. A build is tracked operation by operation however long it runs, so a hull in its first week and one in its final month both show live status. Long lead operations such as lamination and cure sit in the schedule alongside short fit-out tasks, and progress is measured against the plan for each stage.
Every boat we build is different. Does that break the system?
No. Routings and bills of materials can be modified after a job has been released, so owner changes and yard variations are handled on the live build instead of a new job. The change is recorded against that boat, so you can see what was altered, when and by whom.
How do we handle subcontract and visiting trades?
Subcontract steps are set up as operations in the same routing as your own work, with their own dates and costs. Bought-in labour and services are booked to the build like any other cost. When a trade runs late the operation stays open, and the effect on later stages is visible straight away.
We do refits and spares as well as new builds. Does that fit?
Yes. Refit, warranty and spares jobs are tracked the same way as new builds, so they compete for labour and bay space inside the same schedule rather than sitting outside it. You can see what each job is costing and how much of the yard week is going on repair work rather than new hulls.
Does it help with certification and handover packs?
It gives you the production evidence behind them. Inspection results, measurements, serial numbers and sign-offs are captured at the operation, so the record of what was fitted and checked is part of the job. Building a handover file becomes a search of real data rather than a rebuild from paper.
